Picturesque village by the river Pampa has been declared an internationalrural tourism destination by Government of India. The stunningly sculpted ancient temple, the various village craft centres, schools of classical arts, academy of vaasthuvidya, (traditional kerala architecture) etc have helped Aranmula to be included in the Culture Tourism Programme, a joint
initiative of the Union Ministry f Tourism and the United Nations Development Programme. Must do: Buy an Aranmula Kannadi, the metallic mirror, a product of a traditional village craft, known now only by one family. Visit centres where the traditional snake-shaped boats are built.
Konni is a small hilly town in the Pathanamthitta district, which houses the Aanakkood, the elephant nursery where baby pachyderms are trained and tamed. Must do: A trek and a safari through the adjoining forests to the hills.
This is a natural Waterfalls in the Pamapa river and a popular picnic spot. Located on the Western Ghats of Sahyadri Range. Rather than the height, the stream here spreads over a wide area. It is a spectacular view of the water bubbling over the rocks. 36 km from Pathanamthitta.
