 Thrissur Pooram is the biggest and most popular of all poorams. It is celebrated every year, on the pooram day, in the month of Medam month as per the Malayalam calendar. On Pooram day Thrissur town plays host to one of the biggest congregation of people (and elephants). The main features of the pooram festival are these elephants which are elegantly decorated and paraded, the Panchavadyam, a combination of five percussion and wind instruments and the fireworks display. |
