Yoga – ‘The spiritual symphony’

YogaYoga is another masterpiece of Indian ancient wisdom which took the world by storm. It is a way of life and is based on the philosophy of living that underlines a perfect blend between the mind, body and spirit and yields one to maintain all these in a healthy and active state. Yoga means union in Sanskrit and as the name suggests it urges the union of the body, mind and spirit. The most popular form of Yoga which is commonly practiced around the globe is Hatha Yoga of ancient Sage Patajali, known as the Father of Yoga, who formalized it in his work the Yoga Sutras.

Yoga consists of a series of physical postures known as ‘Asanas’, which gives the much needed flexibility to the body and tones up the muscles. The regular practice of various asanas in prescribed combination can be a complete workout which is able to provide physical strength and mental relaxation. Suryanamaskara, a combination of Asanas which involves stretching all the muscles of the body in a prayer to the Sun God, is of tremendous help in maintaining perfect health by combating stress and keeping the body flexible. By practicing Yoga for a considerably long period, unbelievable recovery is observed in patients with diabetes, hypertension and arthritis. The healing powers of yoga, when practiced correctly with the help of a trained master (guru) can help you achieve better control over your mind and body.
